Privacy Policy

What this policy covers

Sunsector (“we”, “us”) is operated by Albamind LLC. This policy explains what data we collect when you use the Sunsector website (sunsector.org) and Sunsector mobile apps for iOS and Android, why we collect it, and your rights over it.

What we collect

We try to collect as little as possible. Specifically:

• Property data you enter — addresses, boundary points, structures, trees, and the maps you generate. Stored locally in your browser/device first; uploaded to our servers only if you create an account and choose to save it.
• Email address — if you sign up for a newsletter, request a printable sun map, join the Planner waitlist, or create an account.
• Account information — if you sign up: email, hashed password (via Supabase Auth), and optional profile info you provide.
• Purchase data — if you buy Sunsector through the App Store, Google Play, or our web checkout, the store provider (Apple, Google, or Stripe) handles payment. We receive a transaction ID and entitlement status — no payment card information.
• Analytics — a daily-rotating hash derived from your IP address and browser user-agent so we can count unique visitors. The raw IP and user-agent never leave our servers and are not stored.
• Device logs — basic crash and error reports from the mobile app, used to fix bugs.

What we don't collect

• We don't track you across other websites.
• We don't use third-party advertising trackers.
• We don't store raw IP addresses.
• We don't sell your data.

Third-party services we use

• Mapbox — provides the map tiles and address geocoding. When you search an address, that query goes to Mapbox. Mapbox's privacy policy: mapbox.com/legal/privacy.
• Supabase — hosts our database and authentication. Your account data and saved properties live here. supabase.com/privacy.
• Stripe — processes web payments. Card information never touches our servers. stripe.com/privacy.
• Apple App Store / Google Play — process in-app purchases on their respective platforms under their privacy policies.
• Resend — sends transactional emails (welcome, password reset, sun-map share). resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.
• Vercel — hosts the website and serves the app. vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Location data

Sunsector uses your device's location only when you explicitly ask it to (e.g., the “Use my current location” button when starting a new property). We don't track your location in the background. The mobile apps ask permission before any location access.

Your rights

You can:

• Access the data we have about you — request a copy by emailing us.
• Correct inaccurate data — email us or update it in your account.
• Delete your account and all associated data — see our account deletion page.
• Export your saved properties and sun maps — email us to request a portable copy.
• Unsubscribe from any marketing emails using the link at the bottom of every email.

Children

Sunsector is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Sunsector evolves. We'll update the “Last updated” date at the top, and for material changes we'll notify account holders by email.
